GREEN CHEMESTRY IN CHEMICAL LABORATORY

1. GREEN CHEMISTRY DEFINITION
  • The Invention, design and application of chemical products and processes to reduce or to eliminate the use and generation of hazardous subtances to human health ang the enviroment (Initial definition),
  • Involves the fundamental anf inovative chemical methods that accomplished pollution prevention thrugh source reduction and that have broad application in industry (US EPA)
2. SUTAINABLE CHEMISTRY DEFINITION
  • The design, manufacture and use of efficien, effective, safe and more enviromentally benign chemical products and process (Organization for economic Cooperation an Development, OECD)
3. PRINCIPLES OF GREEN CHEMISTRY
  1. - PREVENT WASTE
  2. - Design safer chemical products
  3. - Design less hazardous synthesis
  4. - Use renewable feedstocks
  5. - Use catalysts, not stoichiometric reagents
  6. - Maximize atom economy
  7. - Use safer solvents and reaction conditions
  8. - Increase energy efficiency
  9. - Design chemical produts to degrade after use
  10. - Subtances after use so that they don't accumulate in the environment
  11. - Analyze in real time to prevent pollution.
  12. - Minimize accident potential
